MANATEE COUNTY – A push by the University of South Florida to acquire a hotel near its Sarasota-Bradenton campus for student dormitories is essentially over now that the lodging property has changed hands.
A New York company has paid $10.8 million to buy the Hilton Garden Inn near the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport, officially ending all negotiations for a potential deal between the nearby university and the hotel’s previous owner.
