Portion Of US 441 Closed In Alachua Due To Fog

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — The Florida Highway Patrol has closed a stretch of U.S. 441 in north Florida due to dense fog.

The highway was closed Tuesday morning between County Road 234 and County Road 331 in Alachua County. Officials say visibility is poor in the area because of the fog.

On Sunday morning, dense fog and smoke contributed to multiple pileups along Interstate 75 south of Gainesville. Ten people were killed and at least 18 others were sent to the hospital. A portion of U.S. 441 was also closed early Sunday.
