At the Samuel M. & Helene Soref Jewish Community Center in Plantation on Wednesday night they had a mass shootings drill.
The campus, at 6501 W. Sunrise Blvd., hosted Plantation firefighters and police from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Brodzki Early Childhood Learning Center.
Casualties at mass shootings have often been numerous because responders weren’t able to reach victims until police stopped a gunman. This exercise’s goal is to aid “victims” while the “shooter” is still being pursued by the first officers to arrive, Plantation authorities said.
