Mother & Two Small Children Hospitalized Due to Fire

A mother and her two small children were rescued this morning by Tampa Fire Rescue and have been taken to Tampa Genera Hospital.

The fire broke out at the families home, at 3613 East Diana Street just shortly after 6 this morning.

The two kids, a one and half year-old-girl and a 5-year-old boy, suffered critical injuries, their mother suffered from minor burns, according to Fire Rescue.

A 6-year-old boy was also in the home at the time of the fire, but made it out on his own.

The mother was already outside the home when fire fighters arrived but they  had to go in to rescue the two small children.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
