DUNEDIN, Fla. (AP) — The Pasco County Sheriff’s office says a 24-year-old man hit a deputy with his car after he was pulled over for erratic driving.
Authorities say Dana Charles Lauber almost hit a second deputy Tuesday before he crashed his car along U.S. 19 in Dunedin.
The Tampa Bay Times (http://bit.ly/yLZUcX ) reports the deputy was not seriously injured.
According to reports, Lauber was pulled over about 1:15 a.m. While the deputy was attempting to remove the keys from the ignition, Lauber hit him with the car.
Lauber faces a number of charges, including attempted first-degree murder of a law enforcement officer, DUI and felony fleeing to elude.
He is being held without bail in the Land O’Lakes jail.
