MORRISTON, Fla. (AP) — A north Florida sheriff’s lieutenant who is also a mixed martial arts cage fighter is being investigated for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman he had been dating.
Officials said Levy County Lieutenant Zachary Knight had to be shocked with a Taser gun when they tried to arrest him Friday. They said he refused to be handcuffed and may have been suicidal.
The 38-year-old lieutenant is listed as 5-foot-9 and 200 pounds on mixed martial arts websites.
He is charged with sexual battery, false imprisonment, aggravated assault and tampering with a victim. He is jailed on $2 million bond and has been suspended without pay. It could not be immediately determined Sunday if he has an attorney.
