A man, that witness’s say was intoxicated, was run over and killed Wednesday night when he was laying in the road.
St. Petersburg Police say that the man was lying on the road in the 700 block of 4th Ave. N. as a dark colored Nissan sedan was traveling eastbound in the north curb lane at a high rate of speed around 8:40 p.m.
Officials said the man shouted at witnesses as the car moved into the south curb lane and ran over the man.
The man was killed.
The car, described as a newer model, black or dark colored, mid-size Nissan sedan, sped away eastbound on 4th Ave. N.
The pedestrian has not been identified, pending notification of family.
