PINELLAS PARK, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say a 21-year-old woman and her 16-year-old boyfriend have been charged in the death of a motel manager who was run over with his own van.
Police say Samantha Brownlee and her boyfriend were arrested Sunday, a day after the body of 49-year-old Bhupendrakumar Patal was found in the street about a half-mile from the motel. Investigators say his body appeared to have been dragged.
The Tampa Bay Times (http://bit.ly/wRaNOV ) reports Brownlee was a housekeeper at the Budget Inn.
Investigators say the pair got into an altercation and Brownlee hit Patal with his van and fled. They say she returned with her boyfriend and set it on fire.
Brownlee faces charges of first-degree murder and arson. Her boyfriend faces juvenile charges of accessory to first-degree murder.
