Hit and run killer turns self in

A driver suspected of being behind the wheel in a hit and run crash that killed a 5-year-old girl has been arrested.

Kieron James turned himself in at the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office around 8:30 Wednesday night. He gave a statement to deputies saying he was driving the car that hit and killed 5-year-old Kimora Samuel.

He was then arrested and taken to the Manatee County Jail. James faces multiple charges including leaving the scene of a crash involving death, leaving the scene with injuries and driving with license suspended.

Since Monday night, deputies have been looking for the person driving a car that hit and killed Samuel and seriously injured her 15-year-old aunt. The girls were trying to cross US 41, just south of 34th avenue in Bradenton when they were hit.
