Hit and Run Driver Arrested

The Plant City Police Department have arrested Timoteo Gabriel DeJesus, 23, of Plant City, in the fatal hit-and-run crash that killed a Plant City teenager.

Offical say 16-year-old Brandon Michael Sullivan and 15-year-old Erick Gonzales were walking to the store on Turkey Creek Road, just north of State Road 574 at 8 p.m. Sunday when DeJesus’s vehicle hit them, killing Sullivan and injuring Gonzales with a broken leg.

Acting on a tip, officers located DeJesus’ vehicle at the Woodbridge Apartments in Plant City. DeJesus was arrested at his job Monday night.

DeJesus has been charged with leaving the scene of a traffic crash involving death, leaving the scene of a crash involving serious injury, and driving without a driver license resulting in death.

DeJesus, who goes by the alias Gabriel DeJesus Hernandez, was also arrested on an unrelated warrant for domestic battery.

Police say a “posse” of Sullivan’s friends fanned out and found the car Dejesus was driving parked at the Woodridge Apartments in Plant City first, then police tracked him down at his job, where they found him hiding in a pile of debris.

DeJesus was driving without a license and is charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving death.
