“When he went to the bathroom, he left his own personal firearm in one of the stalls. After about an hour, an hour and a half, he realized it was gone and immediately contacted the manager and went searching for his gun,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Larry McKinnon.
But Tampa Police had already impounded it and identified the owner, but will not press any charges.
“At this point, we are in the process of turning the weapon over to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office and they will handle the case administratively,” said Tampa Police Department Laura McElroy.
