Girl Mauled By Dog Released From Hospital

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (AP) _ A South Florida girl whose face was mauled by a dog at a sleepover has been released from the hospital.

Officials tell Miami news station WTVJ (http://bit.ly/MajpKN ) that 11-year-old Jacklyn Tucker was released from the hospital Saturday.

A Jack Russell terrier-English bulldog mix bit Jacklyn while she was staying at a friend’s house in Royal Palm Beach last month.

The attack almost entirely tore off the tissue from her top lip to her left nostril.

Jacklyn had emergency reconstructive surgery, and then plastic surgeons used a portion of her lower lip to complete her upper lip.
