A fire broke out at the Portofino Restaurant in the 1800 block of U.S. Highway 19 North early this morning./
According to Clearwater Fire Rescue, crews said there was heavy smoke pouring from the building when they arrived at 2 a.m.
It took firefighters about 35 minutes to get the fire knocked down.
There were about 40 firefighters on scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported.
