Drunk Driver Hits and Kills Jogger

A 22-year-old man hit a car, drove away from it, then hit a jogger, metal pole, street sign, another vehicle then a telephone pole.

Florida Highway Patrol says Blake Talman of Bradenton was driving a 2000 Nissan Altima drunk when he hit a car and then drove away.  It was duting his get away when he hit 53-year-old, Donna Chen of Sarasota, who was jogging on the sidewalk Saturday afternoon along Midnight Pass Road in Siesta Key.

Police say 22-year-old Talman, ran into a metal pole, hit Chen, hit a street sign, slammed into a Ford Escort, then slammed into a telephone pole.

Ashley Mullins, 18, the driver of the Escort, was stopped in the driveway to St. Michael’s Archangel Catholic church, only received minor injuries, but a passenger who was in Talman’s vehicle, 24-year-old David Brewer, was listed in serious condition at Sarasota Memorial Hospital.

Meanwhile, Talman is facing more than a dozen charges ranging from hit and run to DUI manslaughter.
