Distracted Driver Causes Fatal Crash

KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) — The Florida Highway Patrol says a woman who was changing a CD caused a fatal wreck on Florida’s Turnpike.

Trooper say 63-year-old Ida Henderson was traveling south Monday afternoon when a vehicle driven by 55-year-old Karen LeForge of West Palm Beach drifted into the right lane and struck her SUV. LeForge told troopers she was changing a disc in the CD player.

The SUV overturned and Henderson died at the scene. Henderson lived in Riviera Beach.

The crash happened just south of Kissimmee. The two passengers in Henderson’s SUV received minor injuries.
