Man and Woman Stabbed in Clearwater

A man and woman were stabbed and seriously wounded Sunday evening, and authorities were looking for the suspect.

According to Clearwater police, three people were in a room at the Gulfway Inn at 2275 Gulf to Bay Boulevard when one person stabbed the other two.

The male suspect, who as described a 6-foot 1-inch, 220-pound white man with brown hair who goes by Elton, then fled in the female victim’s vehicle, police said.

The motive was not known.

Police were searching the area for the suspect and a black Toyota Celica with the North Carolina tag of XXT-554.

The victims, in their mid 30s, were transported by air ambulance to Bayfront Medical Center with serious injuries, police said.

Both remained in critical condition Monday morning.
