The attempted first degree murder trial for Rashad Hales is scheduled to begin in Tampa on Monday.
Hales is accused of raping a woman in her Town ‘N Country home. He was 19-years-old at the time of the alleged incident.
Hales is also facing kidnapping, sexual battery, armed burglary with battery and tampering with a witness charges.
Hillsborough County deputies said he posed as a security system salesman. After talking at the woman’s door, deputies say he forced his way into her house, strangled her with an electrical cord, sexually assaulted her, threatened her life with a knife and then ran off.
