9 Injured In Tampa Bus Crash

TAMPA, Fla. — Nine people were injured when a Tampa Bay area commuter bus collided with a car.

The Florida Highway Patrol reports that the Hillsborough Area Regional Transit bus was making a left turn into the Netpark Office Center Monday afternoon. The driver of a Volvo in the oncoming lane swerved to the right but failed to avoid the bus.

After the impact, the bus continued on and crashed into a sign.

The two drivers and all seven passengers on the bus were taken to nearby hospitals. One person’s injuries were described as serious.

FHP says the bus driver was cited with making an improper left turn.
