PALMETTO – A 3-year-old Lehigh Acres boy died Saturday after being left in a car for three hours in an apparent mix-up while his parents attended a funeral, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Around 4:20 p.m. Saturday deputies responded to a report of an unresponsive child at a home at 2705 Fifth Avenue East in Palmetto.
The sheriff’s report said Kyrese Dwayne Anderson was left in a vehicle for about three hours while his parents, Robert and Amanda Jo Anderson of Lehigh Acres, attended a funeral.
His mother and father drove in separate cars to the babysitters to drop off their children before they went to the funeral. It appears the victim was accidentally left in the car while the other two children, ages 4 and 5, went in the residence of the babysitter.
