Florida Man, 90, Pulls Gun On Postal Worker

BOCA RATON (AP) — A 90-year-old man is accused of threatening a U.S. Postal Service employee when he wasn’t satisfied with the service at a post office near Boca Raton.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office says H.B. Shay of Boca Raton pointed a handgun at the employee Monday and threatened to “blow his head off.”

Responding deputies took Shay into custody outside the post office. An incident report says deputies recovered the firearm and placed it into evidence.

Shay was taken to West Boca Medical Center for evaluation and later booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on the state charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Federal postal police also are expected to file a charge of bringing a gun into a post office.
