FL Powerball Winners Claim Massive Payout

(UPDATED   2:30 p.m.)      A Melbourne Beach couple has claimed part of a record Powerball jackpot.

55 year old David Kaltschmid and 70 year old Mauren Smith chose a lump sum payment of $327 million.

He plans to retire from Northrop Grumman. She is a homemaker.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) _ The holders of one of the three winning tickets from last month’s $1.6 billion Powerball jackpot are set to collect their money in Florida.

The winners are scheduled to attend a news conference Wednesday afternoon at the Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.

The winning Florida ticket was purchased at a Melbourne Beach grocery store.

The other two winning tickets for the Jan. 13 drawing were bought in Mumford, Tennessee, and Chino Hills, California.

John and Lisa Robertson of Munford, Tennessee, cashed in their ticket last month, taking a lump sum total of about $327 million.

Munford is about 25 miles north of Memphis.
