FL Man Charged With Manslaughter After Theft

 

A Florida man has been charged with manslaughter after a victim from a prior theft incident died Monday, the Hillsborough County Sherriff’s Office released.

The incident occured on August 5, 2015 at approximately 8:05 p.m. Darnell Lee Flournoy, 48, of Tampa arrived at the Stop N Shop located at 1201 East 142nd Avenue and saw a bicycle outside of the store that looked like one that was stolen from him a year ago.

Flournoy proceeded inside the store and asked who the bike belonged to. After the victim unlocked the bike, Flournoy punched the victim in the face, knocking him out, and left the scene with both bicycles.

The victim was transported to Tampa General Hospital and Flournoy was arrested on the day of the incident. He was originally charged with Felony Battery and Robbery.

However, after the victim died at the hospital Monday, Darnell Lee Flournoy was charged with manslaughter.
