Nearly 17 thousand private sector jobs were created in Florida in July; that helped the unemployment rate to decline two-tenths of a point to 5.4 percent.
Leading the way according to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity were construction, transportation, utilities, and business services.
There are still 517 thousand unemployed Floridians.
