JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) _ The Florida Highway Patrol will review a video that investigators hope will help them determine what led to an 11-year-old boy either jumping or falling from a moving school bus in Jacksonville.
The incident happened Tuesday as the bus was taking eight special-needs children home from Holiday Hill Elementary School.
The Florida Times-Union (http://bit.ly/WBE1gk ) reports the boy removed his restraint, went to the back of the bus and disengaged the latch on the back door of the bus.
FHP says the boy either jumped or fell and hit his head on the pavement.
He was taken to Shands Jacksonville hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Authorities say the bus driver slowed down as the alarm sounded.
The bus company is cooperating with FHP in its investigation.
