Father Fatally Shoots Son In Overnight Argument

A father has shot and killed his son during an argument early Wednesday morning.

Pinellas County deputies responded to 9244 92nd Street North in unincorporated Largo at approximately 3:51 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2015.

According to detectives, a father and son were involved in a physical altercation at the residence in the overnight hours, when the father shot the son.

The son, identified as 28-year-old Michael Craig Shammos was pronounced deceased at the scene from a single gun-shot wound to the upper body.

The father, identified as 51-year-old Samuel Joseph Shammos III, was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries sustained during the altercation.

This continues to be an open and on-going investigation. No further information is available at this time.
