Dog Nappers Steal French Bulldog at Gunpoint

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) _ Hillsborough County Sheriff’s detectives are searching for two men who stole a French Bulldog at gunpoint.

Officials say 27-year-old Derek McComber was walking his dog, named Bueller, on Saturday in Tampa when two men in a Honda Civic pulled up.

The men asked McComber what kind of dog he had, and when he replied, one of the men said “I’m taking it.”

One of the men in the car showed McComber a gun and scooped Bueller in his arms, then drove away.

Now  Tampa Bay area detectives say he has been reunited with his owner.

About 9:30 a.m. Saturday, a man in the neighborhood spotted the dog in his yard.

Authorities said that the man was making flyers about the dog when he heard news coverage about the theft and called officials.

Bueller and his owner were reunited Monday.
