The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy of theirs shot and killed a sword-wielding man.
Around 8 a.m. Thursday, deputies were called out to a convenience store on SR-70 and 33rd Street E in Bradenton. A woman there claimed she was a victim of a domestic dispute involving her 31-year-old son.
She told them she was battered and held against her will but escaped and drove to the convenience store. The deputies drove to the suspect’s home to arrest him. He came out swinging a samurai sword and charged a deputy.
The deputy opened fire and killed the suspect, while no deputies were injured.
The suspect’s name is not released yet.
