At least four people are dead after a 7 car crash on Interstate 4 in Lakeland. FHP says a pick up truck was speeding when it crossed the median and slammed into half a dozen other vehicles. I-4 westbound is shut down between Kathleen Road and Memorial Boulevard.

55 year old Jerome Smith, hit and killed by a car that ran a red light this morning at Belcher Road and Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard in Clearwater. The driver who blew through the red, 55 year old Ronald Siggeman, is in jail for driving on a suspended or revoked license. He may also have been drunk.

Interstate 95, closed in both directions near Daytona Beach because of low visibility from a lightning-sparked brushfire. Traffic is being detoured.

Things are back to normal at the Largo Post Office after a car crashed through the entrance and ended up in the lobby this morning. No one was injured.

Democrat Hillary Clinton’s lead is getting bigger over Republican Donald Trump in the Florida race for president. The latest Quinnipiac Poll has Clinton with 47 percent and Trump with 39 percent. The two were statistically deadlocked just last month. The poll says more of Florida’s independent voters are going for Clinton.

Cops are telling West Pasco County residents to start locking their car doors after more than 50 vehicles were broken into there in the past two weeks. Most of the break-ins were in Holiday, Trinity, Land O’Lakes, and Wesley Chapel.

Pinellas Jail guard Matthew Stanfield, fired for roughing up an inmate who wrote cop-bashing grafitti on the wall of his cell. Stanfield could still face battery charges.

A black bear found roaming down Linebaugh Avenue in Tampa this morning is on his way back to the wild. The bear climbed a tree to get away from wildlife officials, so they shot him with a tranqulizer dart.
