Boy, 16, Hit By Car While Walking To School

ORANGE CITY, Fla. (AP) — Volusia County school officials say they’ll step up an awareness campaign after a 16-year-old student was hit by a car and died while walking to school.

The Florida Highway Patrol says Brandon Vera was killed as he crossed a busy street near University High School.
