High Surf Expected Along FL Gulf Coast

The winter storm that’s been causing deadly problems in the Plains and Midwest is also stirring up the Gulf of Mexico.

Forecasters say a high surf advisory is in effect for Florida’s gulf coast.

Breaking waves along the shore could be five feet or higher.

That also means rip currents.

Officials are worried about waves and rips because recent record high temperatures have more people at local beaches.
