The pilot of a small plane was killed in a noon-time crash at the St. Petersburg-Clearwater Airport.
Officials say he was practicing take offs and landings when something went wrong and the twin engine Piper crashed off the end of a runway at PIE.
FAA investigators are on the scene to determine the cause of the crash.
There is no word on the pilot’s identity.
