Counter Terrorism Effort To Fight Al-Qaeda Killed Two Hostages

On Thursday President Obama announced that an American counter terrorism mission back in January killed two aid workers held by al-Qaeda, including an American identified as Warren Weinstein. The men were killed during a mission that targeted an al-Qaeda compound in the border region between Afghanistan and Pakistan. While taking full responsibility for the incident the President said that the initial assessment indicates that the operation was fully consistent with the guidelines under which conduct counter terrorism efforts are conducted in the region. The White House is reviewing its protocol for counter terrorism operations.
