Clearwater Police continue to investigate after an Uber driver shot a passenger in the foot during an argument overnight.
It happened on Mandalay Avenue when the passenger, 60 year old Marc Mermel, and the driver, 74 year old Steven Rayow, got into an argument.
Police say that at some point Mermel began choking Rayow. That’s when Rayow pulled a handgun, for which he has a concealed weapon permit, and shot Mermel in the foot.
Uber has a no-weapons policy for its drivers.
