Clearwater Police Seeking Help In Suspect ID

Clearwater Mall Suspect

Clearwater Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who made off with thousands of dollars worth of jewelry from a kiosk at Westfield Countryside Mall on Wednesday.

The theft occurred about 2:30 p.m. on the second level near the food court at the Meher Jewelry Kiosk.

That’s when the suspect first tried on a gold necklace with a diamond cross, then asked to see bracelets that would match. When the worker brought out an entire tray of bracelets, the suspect grabbed the tray and ran out of the mall.

He got into a waiting gray vehicle driven by a black female and left the scene.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 30 years old. He is about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds. He has short hair and is clean shaven and was wearing a blue t-shirt, black jacket and blue jeans.

Anyone with information on this case should call Clearwater Police at 727-562-4242.
