Clearwater Police Arrest Duo In Walmart Robberies

Clearwater Police detectives arrested two suspects late Tuesday in a pair of robberies at a local Walmart.

The two were taken into custody about 10 p.m. at the Oasis Cabaret, 24652 U.S. 19 N. The Red Saturn that had been used in the robbery earlier that evening at Walmart was spotted behind the Oasis, and the two suspects were inside the business.

Francis S. Stadelman, 26, and Johnathan E. Colaizzo, 28, were taken into custody once officers and detectives entered the business. Colaizzo admitted his role in the crimes, but Stadelman denied involvement.

Both were taken to the Pinellas County Jail.

The most recent robbery occurred Tuesday at 5:04 p.m. when one of the suspects entered Walmart with a plastic bag concealing his face. He went to the customer service desk and demanded the money from the cash register. The two fled the scene in the 2000 Saturn that later was found behind the Oasis – which was spotted by detectives canvassing the area.

The first robbery at the store occurred Nov. 13, when the suspect implied he had a weapon.

The two were charged with one count of robbery and one count of robbery with a firearm implied.
