Civil Trial Begins In Veteran’s Day Parade Tragedy

Two years after a parade float was rammed by a freight train in Midland, Texas, killing four military veterans and injuring 16 other people, a trial has begun to determine financial liability. Survivors of the accident and families of those who died claim negligence on the part of Union Pacific. For its part, UP maintains that it was following all federal regulations in the operation of the crossing.

ABC’s Jim Ryan was in West Texas on the day of the collision and has the update from Dallas/Fort Worth.
