Cargo Ship In Peril Amid Hurricane Joaquin

The U.S. Coast Guard is trying to get to a large cargo ship that is taking on water and listing in the middle of Hurricane Joaquin.

The 735 foot El Faro (pictured above) is off Crooked Island in the southern Bahamas with 33 people on board.

The vessel was on its way from Jacksonville to San Juan PR when it got into trouble.

Radio communication between the Coast Guard and the wayward vessel has been spotty.
