Car Strikes 12-Year Old Boy Walking To School

A 12-year-old Tampa boy suffered minor injuries this morning when he was struck by a car while walking to school.

Tampa police say the boy was walking to Van Buren Middle school and crossing Busch Boulevard, just west of North 22nd Street, when he was grazed by a car.

The car struck the boy, who was not crossing at a crosswalk, with its left front bumper, knocking him to the ground, police say.

The boy suffered a possible broken nose, and the driver will not be held at fault nor cited, polie say.
