Officials pulled a red Mercedes out from the water and confirmed one fatality. A bystander reported seeing the vehicle drive off of the pier.
According to an affidavit, 52-year-old Richard McCrocklin of Eustis drove off the pier and was completely submerged in the bay. Divers located McCrocklin and his car.
McCrocklin was pronounced dead at the scene.
