Car Avoids Collision With Bus, Hits Another Car

Earlier this morning, around 8:17 AM, a car driving westbound on SR-50 just east of Amelia Lane almost rear ended a stopped school bus with it’s stop signs deployed.

The driver didn’t see the bus and took evasive action to avoid a wreck but lost control. The car spun out in a clockwise motion and left the four-lane divided highway and traveled onto the grass shoulder.

The car collided with the rear of a parked vehicle 40 feet off the shoulder. At the time of the wreck, a six-year-old girl, Janassa Terry, was exiting the parked vehicle to walk to the bus to get on. She sustained minor injuries and was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital and the driver was cited for careless driving.
