Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn is moving ahead with his controversial plan to pick the entire police review board himself.
Buckhorn is asking for applications as council members demand a say in who gets to serve on the 11 member panel.
Buckhorn says the city charter gives him sole authority to select a police review board.
The board will look at police use-of-force cases and cases that resulted in an internal investigation.
But it will basically be toothless, without the power to force testimony or make the department change.
