Two men were shot in Brandon on Thursday morning, three people are in custody and Yates Elementary School remained on lockdown as deputies searched for other suspects and a weapon, Hillsborough County Sheriff David Gee said.
The shooting occurred just after 7 a.m. at 610 E. Morgan St., the sheriff’s office said. Deputies are awaiting a search warrant to enter the residence.
Three males have been detained and are being questioned by detectives, Gee said at a news conference. Gee said investigators are checking to see whether the three were juveniles.
He said he believed the main suspects were in custody, but deputies were still actively looking for others who may be involved as well as a weapon that may have been discarded.
