Bradenton Man Driving Wrong Way, Arrested For DUI Sunday

The Tampa Tribune reports that a Bradenton man was arrested early Sunday morning after making a U-turn on the Selmon Expressway and driving off in the wrong direction. He has been charged with a DUI.

There was a crash being investiged on the eastbound lanes of the Selmond Expressway around 2:07 a.m. near the exit for U.S. 41. Instead of exiting before that closure, Carrington Carlyle Cox, 24, drove around the closure in a 1999 Saturn.

Cox turned around before reaching the crash site, then briefly drove west in the eastbound lanes before being pulled over by a trooper.. He refused to provide a breath sample and was arrested and taken to the Hillsborough County Jail.
