Body Recovered From Anclote River

Pasco deputies have retrieved a body from the Anclote River.

PCSO got a call at about 5:16 p.m. Wednesday alerting officials to the body of a white male in the water. Once they arrived on scene near Riverbank Drive in New Port Richey, members of the PCSO Marine Unit were called to the river to retrieve the body, which was recovered at about 8 p.m.

Deputies say they’re working to determine the identity of the boy. The cause of death will not be known until a medical examiner can investigate.

At this point no further details are available. This information should be considered preliminary and could change as the investigation continues.
