FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) _ The body of a woman who has been missing for 25 years has been found inside a red sports car at the bottom of a southwest Florida pond.
The News-Press of Fort Myers reports the car was found during a search for a woman who went missing in Fort Myers last week.
Scott Dunlap of Cape Coral says he was searching bodies of water for the missing woman’s car.
He spotted oil sheen, put a magnet on a fishing pole and cast. It latched onto something.
A friend swam down and confirmed it was a car.
Turns out it was the 1975 Datsun Rita Sue Zul was driving when she left a party in 1990.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office says the car belonged to Zul’s boyfriend.
