Boca Raton: Man bites neighbor’s ear after argument over cigarette

BOCA RATON — An argument over a cigarette last week nearly cost one man his ear and landed another in jail, city police said.

Police said Albert Felipe bit another man’s ear the afternoon of Jan. 3 when the man refused to give him a cigarette. The victim, identified as John Ott, 54, of Boca Raton, was rushed to an area hospital where doctors stitched back together an approximately one square inch section that was nearly severed.

Felipe, 31, of Boca Raton, was arrested after shortly after the incident and released from the Palm Beach County Jail on $3,000 bond and supervised release.
