FOX 13 News

A boater in Hawaii who was missing at sea for 12 days is happy to reach shore and walk on land.

According to MyFoxTampaBay, the Coast Guard was on a search for 67-year-old Ron Ingraham, who made a rescue call on Thanksgiving. In the audio clip of the call, Ingraham said that his 25-foot boat was in danger of sinking when he was 50 miles west of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.

The search was initially called off on December 1st, but the Coast Guard recieved another rescue call on Tuesday. Luckily, a U.S. Coast Guard missile destroyer was near the vessel and rescued Ingraham.

When the Coast Guard arrived to Ingraham on Tuesday and his half sunken ship, they said Ingraham was hungry, dehydrated, and looked weak. They found the vessel and then one of the Coast Guard’s ships towed the boat to Molokai, an island in Hawaii. The crew members took care of Ingraham and gave him food and water.
