Bay Area Mosquito Sprayers Out In Force

Weeks of near-constant rain has left plenty of standing water all over Tampa Bay, a breeding ground for mosquitoes.

That has county and city crews spraying from land and air as they try to head off a mosquito population boom.

Spraying is especially urgent because health officials say there are signs that mosquito-borne West Nile Virus is on the uptick.

Officials urge you to get rid of standing water anywhere you see it on your property.

And cover your skin with clothing or repellant.
