St. Petersburg police have arrested a man they say set a fire at a home in which the body of a man was later discovered.
Police say Daniel Thomas Papaleo, 60, set the fire at his listed address of 1030 13th St. N.
Papaleo, who is charged with arson, is hospitalized under police guard and receiving medical treatment for injuries sustained in the fire, police said.
On Wednesday at 6:26 p.m., St. Petersburg Police and Fire Rescue units responded to a call of a fire at the address, and investigators discovered the body of a dead man inside the structure, police said.
The victim, whose body was badly burned, has not yet been positively identified, police said.
An investigation is ongoing.
