Amanda Bynes accused her father via Twitter Friday morning of sexually abusing her as a child. In multiple tweets, Bynes states that her father, Rick Bynes, was “verbally and physically” abusive to her as a child.

The 28-year-old actress exited rehab in December 2013 after six months of treatment. Bynes has received a lot of media attention recently and many fear that she is suffering from a mental illness.

Bynes retired from acting in 2012 after starring in the hit Nickelodeon series All That and The Amanda Show. She also starred in several films, including What A Girl Wants (2003), She’s the Man (2006), Hairspray (2007) and Easy A (2010).

Here is the series of tweets Bynes posted about the accusations:

Amanda Bynes’ mother released a statement Friday morning through her attorney Tamar Arminak. Lynn Bynes’ attorney told E! News in a statement on her behalf: “I am heartbroken today for my husband of 47 years. Rick has been the best father and husband a family can ask for. He has never abused Amanda or our other children physically or sexually. These accusations are absolutely horrible and could not be further from the truth! These allegations stem from Amanda’s mental state at the moment. They have no basis in reality. It saddens me beyond belief that my husband’s character could be slandered in such a way.”

A couple hours after releasing her series of accusations, Bynes sent out another tweet claiming the accusations against her father were false and that the “micro-chip in my brain made me say those things.
